MINISTER TAMIKA EDWARDS
Minister Tamika Edwards is a mission-driven woman of God whose concern and compassion for the people of God has led her to use her degree in law and passion for education to inspire, motivate and minister to people of all ages. As a staunch believer in the “Plant a seed and watch it grow” philosophy, Tamika is firmly committed to nurturing those seeds of faith and empowerment which are planted in the lives of those with whom she comes into contact.
Tamika is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo and New England School of Law. Tamika is the devoted wife of longtime friend, Sean Edwards, pastor of The Faith Place Church and caring mother of daughter, Nia, and sons, Niko and Noah. She is currently a Managing Director for a community-based youth organization in New York City and serves as a minister at The Faith Place in Queens, NY.
REVEREND MARSHA SCIPIO
Born in Trinidad & Tobago and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Rev. Marsha Scipio is the Founder of Women Who Minister. She is the Director of Baptist World Aid for the Baptist World Alliance where she has the privilege of impacting the lives of the world’s most vulnerable populations. She also serves as an Associate Minister at the historic Berean Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Arlee Griffin, Jr. A Youth Pastor, Rev. Marsha is passionate about teaching and preaching God’s Word. She has studied and engaged in ministry in Liberia, South Africa, India, Israel and Palestine territories, Haiti and Puerto Rico. She has served as the Associate General Secretary for Missional Initiatives and Partnerships for American Baptist Churches USA and on the Board of American Baptist Churches of Metropolitan, NY.
The former Executive Director of the Berean Community & Family Life Center, Rev. Marsha has a demonstrated commitment to public service and social justice, having spent twenty-plus years in non-profit management and youth development. Rev. Marsha earned her M. Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. She is an alumna of Georgetown University Law Center (JD), New York University (MA in Psychology) and Yale University (BA in Psychology & African-American Studies).
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and eating good food! Quoting her favorite poet, Maya Angelou, she says, “I wouldn’t take nothing for my journey now!” Gratefully adding, “God’s got this!”
REVEREND SANETTA PONTON
Rev. Sanetta Ponton is passionate about seeing God’s kingdom manifested on earth as it is in heaven, specifically through the proclamation of the gospel, community engagement and transformation, justice and racial reconcilation. She serves as the Pastor of Justice, Advocacy and Compassion at Metro Community Church, a multi-ethnic church in Englewood, NJ as well as Executive Director of Metro Community Center, also in Englewood. Previously she served as Assistant Pastor at First Baptist Church of Englewood. She also operated in several roles at Legal Outreach, Inc., a law-related college prep program, most recently as Managing Director of Academic Programs. Rev. Sanetta holds degrees from Columbia University (B.A.), Harvard Law School (JD), and Duke Divinity School (M.Div. magna cum laude). She is currently in training to become a Christian coach. God has allowed her to minister across denominations, ethnicities, and regions, both nationally and internationally. She is a woman who proudly ministers on behalf of a God who is “able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask or imagine according to the power that works in us.” (Eph 3:20)
REVEREND KIMBERLY HEADLEY
Reverend Kimberly Headley is an ordained minister and servant leader for the New Members & Discipleship Ministry at Berean Baptist Church, Brooklyn. Kimberly received her call to ministry in 2006. She has since evangelized on the streets and subways of Brooklyn, New York; she has preached the Gospel abroad in George, South Africa; and she presently ministers occasionally as an itinerant preacher in New York City. Kimberly is a graduate of Alliance Theological Seminary receiving a Master of Divinity in Church Development. She also holds a Master of Science in Publishing from Pace University. She is presently working on her doctorate in transformative leadership with a concentration in prophetic preaching at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, New York.
She is the COO of Strong Power Consulting firm based in Brooklyn, a consultant firm that specializes in working with faith-based organizations; community-based organizations; and small and medium sized corporate businesses in an effort to bring resources and employment opportunities for residents in the Central Brooklyn community. Kimberly most recently authored her first published book, “What’s on Your Mind,” A Collection of Quotes for Meditation and Reflection. Kimberly believes in the power that transforms a life and heals a wounded soul.
Kimberly’s life scripture is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
REVEREND DR. LISA WILLIAMSON
Rev. Lisa Williamson MD is an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She is the current and first female Pastor of Calvary Fellowship AME Church in Brooklyn, NY.
Rev. Williamson is a retired pediatrician and currently works as a Supervisor for a NYC COVID-19 Contact Tracing team.
Dr. Williamson works as a Program Consultant for The Woman’s Opportunity Rehabilitation Center (WORC), an alternative to incarceration program for women who are justice involved. She is certified in Courage To Change and Forward Thinking Interactive Journaling curricula, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Informed Care. She conducts Interactive Journaling groups at the Nassau County Correctional Facility.
Rev. Williamson received her Bachelor Degree from Cornell University, Master of Public Health from NY University, Doctorate of Medicine from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Her call to ministry led her to receive a Master of Divinity from New Brunswick Theological Seminary and Master of Sacred Theology from Drew University.
